Microneedling

Microneedling, otherwise known as skin needling or collagen induction therapy is a well established treatment within medical aesthetics. It involves using a device with multiple fine, sterile needles to lightly penetrate the skin, inducing a wound healing process that results in the skin producing an increase in collagen and elastin. There are two methods of microneedling, manual or electronic. Manual application involves using a derma roller of a specified depth to manually penetrate the skin in cross-hatch movement, an electronic device usually involves a pen with fewer needles that swiftly and repeatedly penetrate the tissue to create micro channels, the depth of this device can be set by the practitioner and changed according to the specified treatment area. Microneedling can be used on both face and body.

Microneedling treatments result in plumper, smoother skin and can be combined with mesotherapy, chemical peels and/or facials allowing the product to penetrate deeper than if they were applied topically. You can also target acne scarring, stretch marks and surgical scars with this treatment. For optimum results we recommend between 3-6 sessions, performed 4 weeks apart. You can select this treatment as part of our Injectable Subscription packages.

DERMAPEN

What is it?

New into clinic is the DPM8 device by Dermapen. This skin needling device is completely customisable to the individual.  With 6 speed settings and needle penetration depth of up to 2.5mm, you're looking at over 2,200 micro channels per second!

What does it do?

Dermapen is a pen-like device with single use needle cartridges that glide along the skin, creating microscopic channels into the skins matrix. This process kickstarts the bodies own healing response and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, two powerhouse proteins in the world of skin health.

What is it used for?

Thanks to its nifty technology, the DPM8 can be used in the most delicate of areas such as the under eyes, to the larger surface areas i.e the abdomen. We can target fine lines, photo ageing, enlarged pores, acne scarring and even stretch marks. It's also a wonderful device for simply banking up some of that all important collagen and maintaining an everlasting hydrated, plump complexion

How many sessions do I need?

If you're seeking rejuvenation and a glowing complexion, you'll see results after just one treatment. To target specific ageing, photo damage and scarring concerns, we would recommend a minimum of a course of three. Speak to your practitioner during your consultation and they will advise you further.
